Do Benefits of Bottled Water Outweigh the Costs?

The use of bottled water is a controversial topic. Some people claim that drinking bottled water is reasonable, as well as being a better purchase than soft drinks. In Zak Moore's article, he mentions that many places in the world do not have running, clean water (Moore xx). Others, however, believe that tap water is important to our planet, and less costly to the consumers. "The more the wealthy opt out of drinking tap water, the less political support there will be for investing in maintaining America's public water supply (New York xx)." Although both sides of this issue have merit, I believe that this controversy is unnecessary. I prefer tap water, and I'm so thankful we have a choice of clean water. Water consumption is very important, whether it's bought or not.
