- The essay's thesis states that President Reagan, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger, believe it is possible to have an immigration policy that will strengthen our borders and encourage immigrants.
- Three arguments presented as evidence to the thesis are: We need a new law, construct a new immigration policy, and secure our borders as they are resposible.
- The opposing arguments indentified are briefly summarized as expensive and that the immigration system is bad policy. The writer's refutation to said arguments state that control of the border and compassion for the immigrant is key to the immigration strategy. Additionally, the temporary worker program would employ foreign workers when noone else will complete the job!
- Immigration is an issue we struggle with; but if we use compassion and control the borders, we will acheive the outcome we are searching for.
